1st 5 Inning
I like the Brewers for the 1st 5 Innings in this spot tonight. I see a massive SP edge here with Burnes vs Snell. Burnes does his best work when he takes the ball on the ROAD. He's had 17 road starts this year & last season combined. He has a combined sparkling 1.91 .ERA with a filthy 0.82 WHIP. He's allowed just a .186 .OBP against. He also has a dominant 136/16 K/BB ration in these 17 road starts. It also should be noted that current Padres are just a combined (5-39) in their careers vs Burnes with zero extra base hits. The Padres give the ball to much maligned Blake Snell. He simply has struggled since coming to these Padres last season. He's coming off his 1st start of the season vs the Phillies last week & he lasted just 3 2/3 IP, giving up 3 runs, 3 hits, a HR, 3 BB and 5 k's. Snell faced these Brewers once last season & he was smacked around in 3 2/3 IP, giving up 5 earned runs, 5 hits, 2 HR's and he walked three. With Hader not being available again tonight (personal reason) and Devin Williams having thrown 24 pitches last night I will take the bullpen out of the equation here. The bottom line for me here is that I really like Burnes to limit these Padres and to continue his great work on the road & this season overall. I also expect these Brewers to eventually get to Snell in this spot. I'm on these Brewers money-line for the 1st 5 Innings tonight.
