2* on ST. LOUIS CARDINALS game #1 of double-header (@Wynn)
I like the Cardinals in this spot for game #1 of today's doubleheader. We have a massive SP edge here with an extremely underrated Mikolas. He's been brilliant all season: 7 starts and a sparkling 1.49 ERA and just a filthy 0.95 WHIP. He's done his best work on the road this season, too. The Mets give the ball to much maligned Trevor Williams. He's been lit up this season, and has been worse when taking the ball at home. Williams has also not lasted further than 3 2/3 IP this season. Add on the fact that current Cardinals are hitting a combined .322 vs Williams with 4 HR's & and .850 OPS. I absolutely expect the Cardinals to get to Williams eventually and then we get the Mets bullpen for the remainder of the game. I also expect Mikolas to limit this Mets and leave this game with a lead & handing the ball of to the best arms in the very good Cardinals bullpen to close this game out. The bottom line for me here is that I see St. Louis as an extremely live dog on this spot.
