I don't understand why Florida is a mid-sized favorite here? The SEC is highly competitive as usual and Mississippi State has better offensive numbers, grabs more rebounds and commits fewer turnovers than the Gators.
I'm not sure I'd even make Florida the favorite even though the Gators are home.
Florida is 10-6, 1-3 in the SEC. The Bulldogs just pushed their record to 12-4 and 3-1 in league by knocking off then-24th ranked Alabama, 78-76, as a 2-point home favorite this past Saturday. That was the Bulldogs' sixth win in their last seven games.
Mississippi State has the top scorer on the court in Iverson Molinar, who averages 17.9 points, which is third-highest in the SEC.
Note, too, that the underdog has covered five of the last six times in this series.
