It's not always easy to bet against Lance Lynn but it's very easy to bet on Valdez, at home, at this price. In three starts since the IL stint he's thrown at least seven innings in all of them, and given up a total of four earned runs. That is more impressive when you factor in two games against Boston and one against the Twins. I know Chicago has been money against lefties but that can't be the only reason to bet on them. Houston is playing with some swagger again and quite confident after being no hit for the better part of five innings and still getting it done last night. Chicago has always been worse without Adam Eaton who is now on the IL. I know he hasn't been hitting be he's always been a spark. Andrew Vaughn may be out as well. The White Sox are great at home but mere mortals on the road. Houston is the same, great at home, and lately their bullpen has been great. Lastly, most of the Astros regulars have had great success against Lynn, so this almost could have been an even bigger bet for me.
I bet 1* on Kansas City and Pittsburgh. Two home dogs needing one to win but market says both might.
