The 49ers looked awful on Sunday. We all saw it. And so did the market, as the look ahead line on this game (49ers -3) has now moved six points.
Jimmy G is practicing in full as of Wednesday. Do I believe he will be fully healthy? I do not believe he's 100%, but that's a great sign for his future health and we are getting San Francisco at a premium price due to the negativity surrounding his first half performance against Miami.
The Rams are a run first, low average depth of target offense this season, which actually plays to the 49ers strengths considering their run defense is 7th in the NFL in YPC allowed and their horrendous corners won't be threatened downfield as often as someone like Ryan Fitzpatrick did. Jared Goff leads the NFL in yards per pass attempt from a clean pocket (10.6 Y/A) while ranking 32nd under pressure (3.7 Y/A). 49ers are 3rd in the NFL in pressure rate, despite the injuries to their defensive line.
I make this game Rams -2.5, but the 49ers are also in a tremendous spot. They are in a desperation, close to must win game against a division rival, plus the Rams are playing their fourth road game in five weeks.
