Let’s make your target line 49.5 or more points in tonight’s Monday Night game between non-conference opponents. After opening at 52 points, the first big ‘whale’ push was done to 50.5 points. Then it crept back down another full point when the lines came back up again this morning. A lot of squares might be sacred off based on the start of the Saints in the 2020 season. With four straight OVERS, they are now the only NFL team that has yet tp go Under the Total in game this season. If you are concerned about those OVER-whelming numbers to start the year, don’t be. Because our database tells us that GAME FIVE teams who went OVER in each of their first FOUR games (like New Orleans) have go e 2-12 O/U since 2009 (and 1-7 O/U since 2014) when the OU line is 52 or less points. And HOME teams in this high-scoring scenario have gone UNDER 90% of the time (1-9 O/U)…

For instance, MONDAY NIGHT Games are already on a 1-5 O/U run this season, with an average of only 44.2 combined PPG. That’s a full TD LESS than the average combined points for the season (which is at a high 51.0). In addition, over the last two seasons… Monday Night games have gone 2-10 O/U when the home team is FAVORED (like the Saints)…
As long a we are still tracking Monday Games, here’s a few more Totals Tidbits:
(1) MONDAY games have gone 0-6 O/U in the last 3 years when BOTH teams are .500 or worse on the year (Saints + Chargers), and the OU line is 41 or more points…
(2) MONDAY night BIG home favorites of -7 or more points (Saints) have gone 1-11 O/U in the last four years (and a perfect 0-5 O/U in the last two years)…
(3) MONDAY night HOME teams who score 35 or more points in their last game (Saints) have gone a PERFECT 0-9 O/U since 2013…
(4) 0-5 O/U since 2010: All NFL favorites of 4 >pts who scored 24+ pts in EACH of their last four games (Saints)….
(5) 1-8 O/U last 3 years: All GAME FIVES or greater when BOTH teams scored 31 or more points on their last game (Chargers + Saints)….
(6) 6-34-1 O/U since 2012: All NFL teams off a SU road WIN in which they scored 34 or more points (Saints beat Detroit 35-29 last game in Motown). In the last 3 years, these teams have done even better for UNDER bettorsL 2-20 O/U!….
(7) 2-12 O/U since 2012: All NFL teams off a SU loss BUT an ATS win in which they allowed 38 or more points (Chargers lost 38-31 but covered vs Tampa last week).
