I've followed this Hawaii team who has great speed at wide out positions and should be able to hang with Broncos on Smurf Turf. Line will go to 11 is my guess...but heck, I was wrong on Michigan-Iowa line too.
Cole McDonald is playing solid football for the most part this season after a rough 4 INT opener in win over Arizona in which he also threw 4-TD's. The Rainbow Warriors are one of the few teams in CFB with a potential starter on many teams as their back up in Chevan Cordeiro.
Cedric Byrd II and JoJo Ward make up half of the WR Quartet for the Bows, with 68 receptions, 916 yards and 15 TD's while the number's 3 & 4 receivers Smart & Sharsh are solid as well with another 56 receptions 653 yards & two more TD's.
The Hawaii veteran offensive line gives Coach Rolovich an opportunity to win this game outright. Hawaii has lost the last five to the Broncos by a combined score of 252-46 so it doesn't have any type of trend to back them up.
This is a GUT feeling even stronger than I had with Michigan in last week's game of the Month that was very fortunate to get the Win & Cover. I like Hawaii to win it 34-31
UPDATE- WEDNESDAY 8:30 AM PT - with this time a year...very important to pay attention to the weather....looks like around 37-42 degrees for the Saturday Night kick-off.....with Hawaii's trip to Reno two weeks ago where it actually snowed about 3 hours prior to the game, I'm not worried about it....wind is only supposed to be 6-mph and that is what scares me when I have a heavy passing team like the Bows....If Hawaii takes care of the ball and doesn't turn it over they should be fine! The loss of LB Ezekiel Noa was a major blow to the Boise State defense two weeks ago. This could be a Major defining moment for Hawaii Football under Nick Rolovich to turn this team into one of the upper echelon teams in the Mountain West. If they are ever going to win outright at Boise this would be the year!
UPDATE- THURSDAY 10/10 at 2:45 PM PT - Well line jumped offshore to 13.5 and is 12.5 to 13.5 here in Vegas with Westgate and William Hill showing 12.5 - no new injuries...weather around 40 degrees, no wind same conditions the Rainbow Warriors played in two weeks ago in Reno,NV - last week my game of the Month...was Michigan minus 5.....that line went to 3.5 before kick.....Michigan covered....if I had $10 for every time the line moves against me on a big play, I'd be a fat Cat...I have watched Rolovich change the mindset with this team....I know they got blown out vs. Washington but that was it...Boise State also ( 7-17-1 ) last 25 games ATS at Home...most think it's the other way around!
