Typically to be candid I would look very hard at the Jets as a live home dog, frankly release it as a rabid dog on New York. As most my clients know I am much more fond of taking points than laying them. It has served me well picking my spots over the years. But the fact is some seemingly square plays have been hitting pretty consistently in the early going. And yes, that is actually not uncommon. The lines will sharpen guys. One only has to look to sunday with the highly public winners on the Cowboys and Chiefs. The books were practically begging for money on the Redskins and Raiders, particularly the Redskins against the Cowboys. Trust me, if these games were fixed like the sore losers crow the Redskins would have crept in the back door. They are not. I generally favor and am on the sides of the books in most cases. But I just cannot back the Jets here. Not without Sam under center for them mixed with the other key injuries. Yes, Gregg Williams will have his defense ready to go and yes, the Browns are off a miserable, well lousy start at home against the Titans. That game just got away from them and steam rolled out of control. Think about it, the Browns had a sick 18 penalties in that game. I know it is drastically early in the season but this is a huge night for Cleveland. Expectations were high and now they go on the road in prime time after laying that egg. Will they respond? I say yes, enough against this depleted Jets team anyway. Of course it will help our cause if Williams does not have Beckham taken out early on and you know what I am saying. And yes, it is a possibility. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise as it would be naïve to think otherwise. Without Mosely and Williams on the defensive end for the Jets that is just a burden more than they can bear here I fear. Frankly the Browns offensive line will have to step up their game this Monday night but the stubborn fact is this Jets defense managed only one sack last sunday against the Bills. No excuses here for less than a capable effort from the line. They HAVE to cut down on the flags on both sides of the ball. IF the Browns step up here and play at least to most their capability with the time Baker should have to deal to Beckham and Landry and Nick Chubb carrying the rock they should be able to win and yes, most importantly clear this number. The Jets are not an offensive machine with Sam under center, so under less than ideal circumstances I see them plodding along most the night trying to move the chains. I do like the Browns to bounce back here. Actually quite a bit. I am going Triple on the Browns to restore some order here to their season. They are fortunate to catch the Jets wounded and should take advantage.
