We had Tampa Bay RL yesterday and it was a relatively easy win for the Rays as the A’s offense just couldn’t figure out Charlie Morton. It was a bad matchup for them and Morton got another great start. Fortunately for OAK’s lineup, today’s matchup is quite favorable for them:

After Ryne Stanek opens the game, it is expected that Jalen Beeks will follow him and do the bulk of the innings. Being a LHP is very important here because OAK’s is RH heavy and they are just killing it against LHP’s, L30 days: ranked #2 w/ +140 wRC+! Beeks has been decent but he already struggled against MIN 2 outings ago (MIN is #1 vs LHP in L30 days). I expect OAK offense to do well today.

OAK will send Mike Fiers to the mound and Fiers is due to some regression: L30 days he has 3.64 ERA vs. 5.57 FIP / 5.21 xFIP / 5.33 SIERA. TB offense has been very good vs. RHP’s and Fiers’ lack of K’punch is a problem against TB.

I think both teams will score quite easily today. Note that I expect this contest to be a close affair and so, I think we are catching some nice value w/ OAK as well.
