I'm playing on MINNESOTA. The Angels eked out a 5-4 win yesterday but the Twins will have the advantage in this one. Opposing batters are hitting just .163 against Gibson here. He's got a 0.82 WHIP at home. Last time out, Gibson was dominant, striking out 11, while allowing just two hits and just one walk, through six innings. Note that Bedrosian will serve as the opener for this game but Pena will be the primary pitcher. Pena also pitched well last time out - however, he came into that game in the second inning and he was facing the Tigers. The Tigers began the week tied with Toronto as the second lowest scoring team in baseball, averaging just 3.5 runs per game - only Miami scores fewer runs per game. Here, Pena will face a Minnesota team which began the week as the 6th highest scoring team in baseball. Note that Pena got rocked in his lone road "start," compiling a 9.81 ERA, while allowing four earned runs in 3 2/3 innings. Gibson has held the Angels to two earned runs or less each of the past five times that he faced them. Not surprisingly, his team won four of those. Twins bounce back.
