WVU may not even win this game. Clearly at the beginning of the season they had loftier expectations than this, so I question their motivation, which is always a huge factor in these games. Obviously Grand Canyon is going to bring their A game and want to actually win. For WVU, James Bolden is gone and has been since late January and he was a big contributor. Esa Ahmad and his 30 minutes per game have been gone since mid February, and since those two have been out WVU has won exactly three games. Wesley Harris and HIS 30 minutes are gone. WVU has turned the ball over almost more than anyone in the nation and they just struggle to score.And the thing is that Grand Canyon is actually a bigger team that has more experience and doesn't turn the ball over. Grand Canyon has played Seton Hall, Nevada, Texas, and Utah, so playing here is not going to intimidate them. And to be honest, I trust Dan Majerle (Grand Canyon coach) more than I trust Huggins, and there is just no way the crowd, what there will be, is going to fire up the Mountaineers. The wrong team may well be favored here.
