1-star (700) Kent St -1 over Central Michigan. 2:30pm ET.
In the first meeting (February 19th) between these two teams, we had
a misleading final as Central Michigan won 84-74 at home. In that game,
Central Michigan was 9 of 17 from 3-point range (2nd most % allowed by
Kent all year) while Kent St was just 1 of
14 from 3-point range (Kent's worst performance of the entire season).
Also Kent St was playing without their guard Jalen Avery (11 ppg, 3.4
apg) in the game. Central Michigan is fat and happy after beating the
MAC's worst team Western Michigan twice in the
last week. Meanwhile, Kent St notched a very impressive win over Akron
last Friday despite the fact they were playing without their best player
Jaylin Walker (21.9 ppg). Walker is expected back for this one and note
both Akron and Kent usually perform well
at this tournament in Cleveland due to their close proximity.
Lean (706) Virginia -11.5 over NC State. 12:30pm ET.
In the earlier meeting, Virginia only won by a single point in OT at NC
State (January 29th). That close result should have Virginia focused
here. NC State is off a close win over Clemson yesterday where the Wolf
Pack had to extend a lot of energy to make the huge comeback win
(trailed by 16 at halftime).
