These teams played twice this season already and both times they played they went over this posted total. I'm going against my rule of thumb here once again, but I really feel the over is the play. I've been hitting under bets the last week or so with these conference tournaments, but I feel this isn't the game to try and under bet.
San Jose likes to run pace..They rank #74 in that area right now..Air force tried to slow down last game and they got blown out because of it..I feel Air Force will look to keep up the pace in this game.
San Jose defense is terrible..They rank #344 in the nation and they've only gotten worse as the season has gone along.
These teams do one thing well. Assist the basketball and that's a good stat for us with two poor defenses.
San Jose is also pretty good at offensive rebounds..WHich we should get some putback points here as well. The interior for both teams is as bad as it gets. So even though both teams on offense struggle..They've found something that in the past games that has worked for both..Thats getting to the basket.
Here is something else we have to consider..In the past two meetings that have gone over this number...Both teams shot kinda poor in both games..Both games under average..So if we get avg to above avg shooting performances, we should be ok here.
I feel the pace will be good. Decent FG% for this game..Plenty of 2nd chance points off offensive rebounds. I also see a ton of runouts in this game as well..I can't predict what the 3pt will look like..We might get a ton or a mediocre amount. First time these teams met they shot 73 3pt attempts..That's crazy and they only made 26.5% of them....Last game they shot 54 attempts and shot 31%....So my thinking is we might see another game in which they shoot 60 attempts and make about 33%...I'll take that.
I can only see this going over...If this game in fact says under..I doubt you'll see another over play for me the rest of the season. I just feel good about this one.
