I'm on this over here tonight...We've used Drexel with some totals this year already and we've done well...These teams have met twice already this season and the posted total here of 149 was eclipsed in both of those meetings.
They scored 157 and 170 in the most recent game....So that's good for us to start with.
Reason I like using Drexel in over's is because they stink on defense, but in key areas they are terrible.
Drexel overall ranks #316 in total defense..That's about as bad as it gets...Now on the flip side, COC is a pretty good offensive team. they rank #123 overall.
Drexel 3pt defense is terrible. #329 in the nation and COC ranks #26 in FG%...but only #215 in 3pt FG%.
So if COC is shooting 3's, we should be ok, because Drexel just fails to cover the outside. Last two times these teams met, they shot 41 and 42 3's...That's nothing crazy but they did make abut 35% from the outside which is good for us.
The key to these two teams is the inside game. They lack athletic guys who can protect them rim. COC is very good at scoring in the paint and Drexel is terrible inside. Drexel ranks #326 in blocks and COC ranks #304. So we should have some easy open looks with limited contested shots.
Here is another area we can expect to make some ground. Free throw line. These two teams can knock them down from the charity strip as both teams rank inside the top 25.
Both teams in terms of pace combined would be below average. But styles make fights and the styles of both teams help each other on offense.
I see both teams playing close to what they've done in the past. foul game will be important at the end, but I don't see a blowout in this game. These two teams have played razor close games this year, so I'm not worried about that even though this line is lined at 8.5
