Most of my NBA bets are simple. In this case, I think the totals are STARTING to become inflated because of all the high scoring games so far, and if not, that WILL happen sooner rather than later. The Celtics are averaging 103 PPG and Orlando is averaging 102 PPG. Of course there are adjustments for home/away, opponent, etc - but to me it's a classic case of I cannot bet that a team WILL until they DO. We know Stevens prides himself on defense, and in Boston's only home game they held Philadelphia, who can score, to 87 points. That's the same Philadelphia team that hung 116 on Orlando on Saturday, in the Magic's first road game, and this is an Orlando team that was 8-33 on the road last season, and you just cannot be scoring if that's the case, and in fact they averaged 94 PPG against Boston last year and Boston should be better defensively this season. And of course when Mo Bamba is on the court, Orlando IS going to be better defensively. I just don't see this one as another 125-122 game - Boston isn't going to be jacked to play Orlando, nor is the crowd.
