Well this game Monday night should be the polar opposite of what we saw sunday night in New England. That was an offensive explosion with two dynamic quarterbacks. We have one of those under center here in Aaron Rodgers but anyone can plainly see Rodgers is hampered still by his injury and has to be looking forward to the bye week. On the other side we have a 49ers offense led by CJ Beathard who simply has not shown he is any kind of answer as a starter in the league. Speaking of bye weeks the Packers MUST come out here and take care of business. They are indeed entering the bye in need of a solid game to try and gather some kind of footing as they forge ahead in the season. The harsh reality is coming off the bye week the Packers next two games are at the Rams, ouch. And then they get to travel to the other coast to do battle with the Patriots, ouch again. So that puts the importance of this very winnable game at Lambeau in prime time on a Monday night in the must win category. Frankly if the Packers were playing pretty much anyone else I would not lay these points. But the Packers defense has been playing better than most realize and I cannot see the 49ers getting much done all night long. Remember when we took the Cardinals as dogs at San Francisco and the Cardinals throttled this offense all day long. If they indeed bring at least their B game Monday night I fully expect a similar performance here from Green Bay. Adding to the pain for this 49ers team is the fact their injury list reads like a scroll. On paper the Packers, even without a 100% Rodgers should roll this team. But we all know strange things can and do happen. I am stopping short of labeling this as a triple. Until Mason Crosby proves he has gotten the demons out of his head it is not the easiest thing to trust him much. He is a grizzled veteran who should bounce back but kickers are wired differently. Bottom line is the Packers at Lambeau on a Monday night against a 1-4 limping team should win and clear this number. I am seeing a 30-16 type game. Let's go with the Green Bay Packers here to prevail by double digits for us.
