All due respect to the Jaguars, nice road win last week in New York. Could have easily lost that game but the bottom line is they flew out of the big apple with a road win. In the NFL you take them however and wherever you can get them. But that being said, I just cannot bring myself here to take Blake Bortles over Tom Brady, can't do it. Won't do it. No question the stadium will be all jacked up for this one and with all the respect I do legitimately have for the Jags defense this is a game against a team that has OWNED Jacksonville over the years. The Patriots have prevailed in an astounding eleven of twelve games all time. Sometimes long term does not mean zilch in these match ups, obviously. Hell, that is usually the case. But the Patriots have been the Jags daddy for a long time now. And with Brady still under center that is not a trend I am willing to buck here. Yes, the Jags pushed the Patriots hard last season but people seem to forget Gronk left that game early after only one reception. Yeah, he kind of makes of difference in the Patriots attack. Adds a whole new dimension for the Jags to game plan for. I like this Jags team, a lot. They will be a playoff team and a contender for the big show if Bortles can continue to develop. Oh, and Fournette can stay on the field and neither of those items are a given, at all. The Patriots defense is salty enough to make it a long day for Bortles and pressure him and his decision making under pressure is still suspect. I also don't mind having the coaching edge with surly, silent Bill over Marrone. The stubborn fact is the Patriots are a traditionally strong team to wager on when on the road. Kind of sick but they have covered the number and cashed for clients in fourteen of their last seventeen road games. Now we have that kind of trend with a healthy Brady & Gronk going up against Bortles and the Jags who have yet to figure out how to get around Coach Bill. No big mystery here to me. I am going Triple here with the Patriots to get it done again.
