I can't overlook the obvious here. Brett Anderson has thrown about 110 innings in the last three-plus years combined, and just spent two months on the DL with a shoulder strain. Having said that there's little chance in my min of him pitching either deep, or well. He also spent two years in the NL West with both the Rockies and Dodgers, so the Giants know exactly what they're getting here. I would admit that I am on the wrong side of Samardzija seemingly every time I play one of his games, but here he's had his one start after coming back from the DL himself, so at this price for what's the better team and the home team, it's a go. Marcus Semien has owned him - but that's just one Oakland stick, and as I said last night Oakland's bullpen was due for regression to the mean, and that hasn't changed - so if the Giants don't get to Anderson early, they'll tag Oakland's pen late. The Giants are still in the playoff hunt and not that far out of first in the NL West, so there's somewhat of a perception issue here, and they're 31-17 at home. Both Jed Lowrie and Khris Davis left last nights' game with injuries and may or may not play tonight - fine if they do and a bonus if they don't, and if they don't this line will climb, which I half-expect it will anyhow.
If you want some early action, the Twins are PROBABLY going to beat the Rays and Archer. I am leery, but I could throw part of a marble at them.
I really want to take Baltimore, and may, just because I cannot see Perez beating anyone right now. If I do, Baltimore will trade Machado about an hour before the game - however, it's another one that's worth something.
I am fairly certain Sabathia over Clevinger is correct. He (Clevinger) one-hit the Yankees in NY this season and good teams don't forget that. Obvoiusly if CC gives them 5 innings there is that big time bullpen advantage and Cleveland may have shot their load winning last night. Barely.
I don't think the White Sox are going to be all that easy, and Duffy DOES have a bigger upside here. AS I type there is some love for the Royals, TBH.
If you still have "9" in the Mets/Nats game then I like that over. I'm a little pissed at myself for missing that one badly.
As always, do with them what you will, but I know people bet more than I may put out on a given day - and since you pay for my thoughts/work, you get what I have that I might find useful.
