7:10pm ET / 4:10pm PT
Texas Rangers w/ Colon @ Boston Red Sox w/ Sale
1* Play on: UNDER the TOTAL
The last of our three 7:10pm ET O/U plays goes up in Beantown, as the Red Sox host the Rangers in Game Three of their series. We’ll be on the UNDER with the best pitcher in the NL (Degrom and the Mets). So it makes sense to do the same in the American League with #1 guy Chris Sale. He comes in with a 9-4 record and a year-to-date ERA of only 2.36. Add he seems to get BETTER with just about every start. Four straight games with 10 or more K’s… a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 65 to 9 in his last six starts (7.2 K’s for every walk!)… and NO home runs allowed in EACH of his last six starts covering 41 innings. It also helps our cause in that Sale has already dominated the Rangers earlier this season. In early May, he went 7 innings down in Arlington, allowed only 4 hits, 1 earned run, had a 12-1 K/BB ratio, and won the game by the score of 6 to 1. The current Texas roster has a lifetime batting average of only .148 vs Sale (17 for 115). Boston has gone 3-10 O/U in their last 13 home games, and 15-33-2 O/U dating back to last season in Game THREES of any series. on there flip side, the ‘ageless’ one goes for the Rangers. That would be 45-year old Bartolo Colon (5-9 O/U this season). He’s allowed 3 or less earned runs in EACH of his last four starts. he has gone 1-5 O/U in his last six ROAD starts. And Boston’s current roster has a team batting average of only .210 vs Colon. If this is a Texas road game, we always look to go UNDER. The Rangers have gone an amazing 8-20-2 O/U in their last 30 ROAD games. Home Plate Umpire MARVIN HUDSON started the season with a 4-1 O/U record. But since then, he has gone 3-7-1 O/U in his last 11 games… and 1-4 O/U since the start of June (7.2 combined runs per game).
