I was hoping this would come down to eight. Paxton has been getting lit lately - three or more earned runs in each of his last three starts. Baltimore's lineup has gone 15/34 off of him and it's a hit or two from each of them, save Schoop. It's tiny sample size but I doub't you'd find another team with even that kind of hope against him. Seattle's bullpen worked fine last night, but in reality their recent stats are pitiful - an 8.15 ERA over the last seven games. So, Baltimore ought to help out here. No, Gausman - either brilliant or batting practice. He tossed 114 pitches in his last outing, which is a lot even for him. He's allowed 15 jacks in only 88 innings this season and the M's are hitting right now - Baltimore's pen hasn't been much better than Seattle's, TBH, and the weather and the umpire are neutral for the most part. I just don't see the pitcher's duel here and lean Orioles RL, if I can stomach another night watching them self destruct.
