Yesterday I took Miami as I expected them to be competitive at Toronto, as they are a tough matchup for the Raptors. Even though the score was close at the end, Toronto had a huge lead midway in the fourth quarter and they blew it, so their mood at the end of the game wasn't great:
“We got comfortable,’DwayneCasey said. “We stopped executing, stopped moving, stopped cutting, stopped being strong with the ball. They were hitting us, grabbing us and officials are not calling it, we have to adjust to the way they’re calling the game. We didn’t do it down the stretch.”
“I’m upset even though we won because I know. I know what’s coming around the corner,” he said. “Like you’re going down a dark alley, here comes a group of guys with a baseball bat and you say, ‘Oh, hey, where’s the baseball game?’ It’s 12 o’clock at night, you know what’s coming around the corner. Again, for us, we’ve got to pay attention to detail closing out games and not getting hit over the head with a bat at 12 o’clock at night.”
“It was terrible,” DeRozan said. “It was a terrible win. We can’t close out games like that.”
So, we'll have a Raptors team in here a bit fired up while facing the lowly Bulls. Chicago wants to play with an uptempo style, firing a ton of treys and play little or no defense at all. That's a terrible tactic against Toronto. The Bulls may keep up with Toronto's pace at first, but then the Raptors' bench will just have another gear to crush the Bulls. Dunn returns tonight, but he'll only play 20 minutes and his conditioning is far from being at 100%. I expect an easy win for Toronto tonight and so, I'll be taking them in here.
