The Red Hawks have by far the superior defense (No. 143 vs No. 262) and have played the tougher schedule (No. 173 vs. No. 246). Akron is getting too much love right now in the market place because of their past success (12 straight 20-win seasons) and the Zips have covered 3 straight games. The reality for this year's team is that they are 0-9 SU on the road and are coming a double-overtime game at Ball St a few nights ago (could be a little tired). Meanwhile, Miami is coming off one of their worst performances of the season in a 10-point home loss to Eastern Michigan losing by 10 as 1.5-point favorites. In that game, Miami shot just 30.4% from the field, their worst mark of the entire season. I think their offense gets back on track here.
