NBA Pick #1: 501 Chicago Bulls @ 502 Toronto Raptors
Rating: 4 units - Regular Play
Pick: Toronto Raptors (-13) (Play up to -14)
Odds: -103 / 1.97 on Pinnacle Sports OR -110 / 1.91 on Betonline
This play has nothing to do with what happened in Chicago a few days ago, where Portis beat up Mirotic and put both of them out for this game. We are simply in presence of two teams with completely different levels of quality and also of team chemistry.
Toronto kept its structure from last season and even though they lost some backup players, but got CJ Miles who offers better floor spacing than Carroll ever could, while Powell will also have more minutes than last season. The Raptors are a team built for the regular season and on their "tune up" game in the preseason, they beat Detroit by 22 points.
On the other hand, Chicago is projected to be one of the worst teams in the league this season. They want to play fast and spread the floor, but they don't have the shooters to do that with success. Only Holiday seems to be in good form right now, but Toronto will put Powell guarding him 1*1 tonight to stop him. Chicago will struggle to score tonight and the fact that they play at a ultra fast pace will work against them in plenty of games, especially against methodical teams such as the Raptors. I expect a clear blowout win for Toronto in here.
