Lester most recently allowed two runs over eight innings in a victory over St. Louis on Saturday. While he’s looked better since the All Star break, note that Lester is still an uninspiring 3-3 with a 4.37 ERA on the road this season. The White Sox counter with Mike Pelfrey (3-7, 4.46) who also comes in off a decent outing, giving up one run over five innings in what turned out to be a 7-2 loss to KC on Saturday (Pelfrey is just 1-3 with a pedestrian 4.03 ERA at home though.) Both starters have struggled with game-to-game consistency this season, making the over a very legitimate invest option in this particular matchup.
