Daniel Hudson is starting to fall into the same hole that has plagued Matt Cain year in and year out.  He's pitching well, but simply not getting any runs.  We're talking about a hitters park in Chase Field, so we've always gotta be selective in backing unders in Arizona.  But I think tonight is a prime time.

As I said, Hudson is pitching well thus far, just 5 runs in 13 innings so far this season, and he's only been supported with one per game from his lineup.  Some guys just have that kinda luck.  But the point is, Hudson is pitching OK, keeping his walks down, and being efficient with his pitch count.  Semi-efficient, nothing spectacular, but another duplicate performance would be plenty.

Especially with Cain on the hill.  Cain is off to a great start, and was great against Arizona in his three starts last year.  He gave up just 3 runs in 23 innings.  And pitched 8 innings of shutout ball in his lone start at Chase Field.   Cain will keep Arizona in check, as usual.  And the Giants bullpen will lock it down late.  As long as Hudson gives us 6 or 7 strong innings, we'll leave some wiggle room for a questionable Arizona pen.  I like both starters in this one, enough to play the Under for 1.5 units.
