Minnesota's Ervin Santana is among the early Cy Young Award candidates in the AL with a sparkling 1.75 ERA and 0.84 WHIP through his first 11 starts, 9 of which have met my definition of a Quality Start (at least 6 inning pitched while allowing 2 earned runs or less).  Over his last 3 starts Santana has been nearly as solid as his overall season stats, with a 2.35 ERA and 0.91 WHIP.  The Angels' Matt Shoemaker has had a decent start to his season with his 11 starts producing a 4.26 ERA and 1.27 WHIP (3.64 / 1.33 in his last 3).  So I give Santana a significant edge in this phase of the handicap.  I also give the Twins a decent edge on offense, enough to justify laying the small price with the Twins to make it 3 in a row over the Halos in the first 3 of this 4 game series.
