College Basketball OddsKentucky -19.5Total: 153 points
Kentucky should have no problems here with Northern Kentucky. The Wildcats are clearly the superior team when it comes to talent and coaching, now they need to go out and prove they are worthy of that No. 2 seed.
The Norse have one of the better nicknames in the tournament, they are going to need to find a way to get comfortable against this Wildcat game. Northern Kentucky can score better than 76 points per game, but giving up more than 71 means they aren’t a dominant defensive club.
Kentucky, on the other hand, ranks inside the Top 15 nationally in both offensive and defensive efficiency numbers. They’re a balanced club that does give up some points, but they have no problem out-scoring people. Since getting boat-raced by Florida in early February the Wildcats have peeled off 11 consecutive wins while scoring better than 77 points per game. During that same span they’ve surrendered just 66 points a game on average.
The Wildcats are comfortable and have a pair of dominant offensive players in Malik Monk (20.4 per game) and De’Aaron Fox (16.1). Isaiah Briscoe also gives them a quality guard that will make a difference here.
