College Basketball Odds
SMU -6.5
Total: 140.5 points
USC made a tremendous comeback in the First Four on Wednesday, trailing in the second half by 17 points to a Providence team that all but gave up. The Trojans took advantage of momentum, quickly building in the second half and riding it all the way to victory.
Now the Trojans have to deal with a quick turnaround in travel and they play a mid-afternoon contest here against SMU. It will test the Trojans ability to get back in the right mindset and prepare for taking on a gritty SMU team that is pretty good.
The Mustangs, who won 30 games this season, are led by Duke transfer Semi Ojeleye, who might be the best player in the country nobody really knows about. Ojeleye averages 19 points a game and is a menace for opposing teams, he’s only been held to single digits once all season. He’ll look to beat up the Trojans inside and really get the Mustangs going along with Ben Moore.
One thing that will be a positive for SMU — seniors guard Sterling Brown and sophomore Shake Milton are both quality guys that can score and facilitate.
