The Ohio State Buckeyes are hosting the Wisconsin Badgers tonight in college basketball action. The game is scheduled for a 9:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Wisconsin is looking to run down Purdue in the Big Ten standings. The Boilermakers are hoping Ohio State can beat the Badgers tonight in Columbus. The Buckeyes are not having a good season at just 15-13, at 5-10 in conference play they are tied with Indiana for next to last in the Big 10 standings, sitting above only Rutgers for the last spot.
The Badgers crushed Ohio State the first time these two schools met, at 89 points Wisconsin really found a way to light up the scoreboard. The have scored at least 90 points in only four games this season, all of those came in non-conference action.
Bronson Koenig had 21 points, Nigel Hayes added 15 and Marc Loving was held to just five points for the Buckeyes in that one. Wisconsin shot nearly 50 percent at home and certainly took advantage of being at home.
The Badgers are decent on the road, going 5-3, so the next two games will be big for them as they play at Michigan State on Sunday as well.
Ohio State really needs a win to build some momentum heading into the conference tournament, they already own wins over Michigan State and Minnesota in Columbus. They’ve dropped three straight games overall as well, so this could be a spot where they circle the wagons and play tough.
