Kentucky is on the road again looking to stay even with Florida atop the SEC standings. Both the Wildcats and Gators are 11-2 in the conference at 21-5 overall. The Gators will take on Mississippi State on the road today, a game in which they should win as well.
Yet, despite both teams being ranked on the road, getting wins away from home in conference seasons can by difficult.
The Wildcats are 4-3 away from home this season, two of those losses came in conference play at Tennessee and Florida. John Calipari's squad has now won three straight games since the lopsided defeat to the Gators and Florida remains the toughest remaining game for the Wildcats as well. Georgia can be a gritty team and they have won two in a row, but their best win on the season came at Tennessee.
The Bulldogs will probably be ready to go here as Kentucky seems to get the best game from everyone they play, but Georgia just doesn't have the firepower if the Wildcats are on their game. Their offense ranks 90th in efficiency rankings this season which isn't good and they match up here with a Wildcat team that ranks seventh-best in offensive efficiency numbers, averaging 119 points per 100 possessions this season. Their 89.1 points per game ranks fourth-best i the country but Kentucky itself isn't a great defensive club in terms of points given up either.
But when it comes down to it, the length and athleticism for Kentucky is too good to pass up. Malink Monk, De'Aaron Fox and Edric Adebayo give them excellent options to win this game tonight. Georgia would have to win the rebounding battle and keep Kentucky from getting good looks. That looks to be too tall of a task.
