The Michigan Wolverines need a big win over a ranked opponent to solidify themselves in the NCAA Tournament. The Wolverines are on the bubble right now with a decent resume, but the next week or so with games against Wisconsin, Minnesota and Purdue could determine whether they are sweating out the tournament selection show or feeling just fine knowing they've done enough to get in.

The tough part for tonight's game is matching the intensity of Wisconsin. The Badgers are coming off a loss at home to Northwestern on Sunday night, so they should be focused and ready to go here. Wisconsin is not a team that plays poorly very often, but they did not play great against the Wildcats and it hurt them in the end. The Badgers have been consistent all season and are once again atop the Big Ten standings, but this is going to be a tough road game.

Michigan is playing well, led by point guard and senior leader Derrick Walton Jr. They have a 4-3 record dating back to the last time they met Wisconsin, a game the Wolverines had a chance to win late in the contest. In Michigan's other two losses during that stretch, Michigan State and Ohio State, they also had chances to win in the second half but weren't able to get it done. Michigan has to move past that and play like this is an NCAA Tournament game because a win here keeps their season alive.

Walton and the crew are tough to beat at home, but Wisconsin has been very good on the road this season with a 5-2 record. The Wolverines have to find a way to win this one at home.
