The Kansas Jayhawks are hosting the West Virginia Mountaineers tonight in college basketball action. The game is scheduled for a 9:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. The college basketball odds for the game have the Jayhawks favored to pick up the win at home.

Kansas has looked like the best team in the country most of the season. They have one of the best players in the country in Frank Mason III and he might be the national player of the year if the Jayhawks are going to continue to pile up victories.
West Virginia is having a sound season as well, they are 20-5 on the campaign and have a very good resume with three Top 25 RPI wins this season. They have already beaten Kansas, 85-69, back in January and will be looking to beat the Jayhawks once again. In the first meeting the Mountaineers forced 13 turnovers by Kansas and held the Jayhawks to 42 percent shooting. The Jayhawks had to connect on 13 triples against the Mountaineers to keep up with West Virginia.
Bob Huggins’ team has better numbers (86 points per game, 65.8 given up) than Kansas (83.5 ppg, 72.1 allowed). They’re one of two teams nationally to rank inside the Top 10 in both offensive and defensive efficiency numbers, the other being Gonzaga. This has allowed them to pile up the wins while turning over their opponents and being strong at both ends of the floor.
Kansas is real tough to beat at home, only Iowa State has won there this season. Outside of Mason, both Josh Jackson and Devonte’ Graham are guys Kansas can get the ball to and feel confident in their ability to score.
West Virginia is going to have to keep Kansas off the glass and defend well in transition. Mason and the Kansas guards will be the difference here at home.
