The Michigan Wolverines are hosting the Michigan State Spartans tonight in college basketball action. The game is scheduled for a 9:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. The college basketball odds for the game have the Wolverines favored by a slim margin to pick up the win.

Both teams here need another win to help bolster the resume. Michigan has struggled to beat anybody on the road this season and it has hurt their overall year, but they have been strong at home in Ann Arbor. An exception to that rule happened on Saturday night when the lowly Buckeyes beat Michigan in a game where the Wolverines could get nothing going the final 30 minutes of the contest.
Michigan State has survived its resume to this point, they have nine losses but still should be able to make the NCAA Tournament if they keep winning. The Spartans are just 2-3 the last five games, but recently knocked off the Wolverines 70-62 in East Lansing last week.
Miles Bridges will be the best overall player on the floor, he leads Michigan State is pretty much everything. When Bridges isn’t playing well or isn’t on the floor, the Spartans are simply not the same team.
Michigan owns six Top 100 RPI wins and would obviously benefit from a win here. Bragging rights in the state are also on the line and coming off a loss to the Spartans last week, Michigan should be ready to go here. They’ve lost each of the last two games to arch rivals and they have to find a way to pick up a victory here.
The Wolverines still rank 13th in the country in adjusted offensive efficiency numbers, the defense has been atrocious though, sitting at 150th in the land. As long as Michigan plays poorly on defense, they have no chance to win.
But as long as they are in Ann Arbor, the Wolverines have the moxy to play tough.
