Texas Tech is not that bad, but the non-conference strength of schedule is going to do them no favors. The Red Raiders played just one decent team (Auburn) and lost that game, their non-conference SOS comes in at 339th in the country. The Red Raiders are going to have to win quite a bit of games in the Big 12 and winning here, especially as such a big underdog, would help their numbers immediately.
Baylor has played like a top seed in the NCAA Tournament this season, but they are going to have to continue to play well to earn that top line. The Bears are led by Johnathan Motley and his near double-double average per game, they rebound the ball well and play excellent defense.
The Bears rank seventh in the country in points allowed per game, giving up just over 60 per game. The adjusted defensive efficiency numbers have Baylor listed third behind only Louisville and South Carolina.
Texas Tech has decent numbers themselves, but against a great defensive team like Baylor, they could struggle to score. The Red Raiders have no real dominant offensive threat and the length of the Bears will cause them issues. Texas Tech has also been horrible on the road this season, going just 1-3 in true road games.
