The West Virginia Mountaineers are hosting the Kansas Jayhawks in college basketball action on Tuesday. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. The college basketball odds have the Mountaineers favored to pick up the win here.

Kansas remains the top-ranked team in the country in the coaches poll and come in ranked second in the AP Poll as well. The Jayhawks have just one loss on the season in the opener to Indiana, since then they’ve piled up 18 consecutive wins.
And even with West Virginia coming off a pair of losses last week, the Mountaineers still pose a very big threat to Kansas in this one. The defeats, coming by a combined six points to Oklahoma and Kansas State, have derailed the Mountaineers a bit, dropping them to 18th in the polls.
Even so, the pressure defense will cause Frank Mason III and the Jayhawks some issues. West Virginia ranks 10th nationally in offensive and defensive efficiency numbers, Gonzaga is the only other team in the country that ranks inside the Top 10 in both categories.
West Virginia already owns a win at home over No. 1 ranked Baylor. The Mountaineers play Texas A&M next, so there is little chance they get caught looking ahead here. Kansas, on the other hand, has to travel to Lexington on Saturday to take on Kentucky in a massive game of Top 5 teams. If they don’t play well in this one and turn it over, the Mountaineers will eat them up.
