The annual rivalry matchup between two service academies takes center stage once again on Saturday afternoon. The Navy Midshipmen take on the Army Black Knights inside M&T Stadium in college football action in the final regular season game of the year. The game is scheduled for a 3:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on CBS, where the Midshipmen are favored by a touchdown to pick up the win.

Army hasn’t won this game since the 2001 season, but this year could be the Black Knights chance to get it done. Four of the last five matchups have been decided by a touchdown or less in the series and Army has had its opportunities to pick up a win, but they’ve come up short.

This year Navy will be playing without quarterback/leading rusher Will Worth, who will be out for the remainder of the season with a leg injury. Zach Abey stepped in and did what he could as a backup, but the Navy offense just isn’t the same without Worth in the game.

Both teams are playing in a bowl game, which is great, but Army wants to get this win. The Black Knights obviously don’t throw the football well, but they are very solid coming out of the backfield.

Army averages 5.6 yards per run this season, which is a little less than Navy (5.9). But without Worth in the backfield, the Midshipmen are going to just be a little out of whack.
