2016 ACC Championship Game Clemson Tigers vs Virginia Tech Hokies Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

The Clemson Tigers will take on the Virginia Tech Hokies in the ACC Championship game tonight in college football action. The game is scheduled for an 8:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ABC. The college football odds for the game have the Tigers favored to pick up the win.

College Football Odds
Clemson -10
Total: 59 points

Clemson’s role in this game is simple. If they beat the Hokies they will not only win the conference championship, but also cement themselves into the college football playoffs. The Tigers are currently ranked third and should have no issues qualifying for the four-team tournament to end the season.

Deshaun Watson was a potential Heisman candidate last year and this year he’s considered to once again be a finalist despite Louisville’s Lamar Jackson running away with the award. Watson had better than 4,000 yards of total offense this season and was responsible for 38 touchdowns. He hasn’t been as accurate this season and threw 14 picks, which could be a major factor in tonight’s game.

Virginia Tech always has a good defense with Bud Foster running the show. He’ll throw everything possible at Watson and the Tigers in this one, looking to wreak havoc up front and keeping Clemson off the scoreboard as much as possible.

Jerod Evans leads the Hokies in rushing as well as passing, logging better than 3,700 yards from scrimmage. He’s scored 34 touchdowns this season combined.

Virginia Tech can’t make the playoffs, but they can certainly cause some havoc with a win here. That defense is good enough to cause some problems for the Tigers and Evans should be able to make a few plays to keep this one interesting.
