The Kansas City Chiefs are on the road in NFL Football action on Sunday, taking on the Atlanta Falcons. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on CBS. The NFL Odds for the game have the Falcons favored to pick up the victory at home.

Kansas City is coming off a huge win on Monday night over the Denver Broncos, but they still find themselves behind the Oakland Raiders in the AFC West. Those two teams will play on the field next weekend in Kansas City in what should be an excellent battle. Will the Chiefs get caught looking ahead to that one? Andy Reid’s team has been very strong in the regular season dating back to last year, winning 18 of 21 overall during the regular season, including 10 consecutive victories to end last year’s regular season. They are the model of consistency, never really throwing the ball down the field vertically and constantly checking down with quarterback Alex Smith. This is evident by tight end Travis Kelce leading the team in targets (82) and catches (57), plus yards (675).

Atlanta isn’t the best defense in the league, in fact they rank seventh worst in total defense for the year. They’re allowing 27.5 points and 381 yards per game to opponents, which clearly need to improve, as the Falcons get closer to the post season. Atlanta currently leads the NFC South by a game over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Matt Ryan is always playing well inside the Georgia Dome, this year he has 12 touchdowns to just three picks there, though the Falcons have won just three of five games on their own turf.

Atlanta’s offense is even better when Devonta Freeman is running the football well, which he didn’t do against Arizona but found a way to get into the end zone a couple of times.

KC is the fifth-lowest scoring team in the league, but with a strong defense and a consistent enough quarterback, they can hang around with anybody, which we have seen over the past two seasons.

With Atlanta’s horrible defense they should be able to score some points, which could make this an interesting game.
