The Louisville Cardinals are hosting the Purdue Boilermakers tonight in college basketball action. The game is scheduled for a 7:15 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. The college basketball odds for the game have the Cardinals favored to pick up the win at home.

Louisville and Purdue will be taking part in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge here, which pits two of the best conferences n America against each other. Both of these teams have one loss on the season and each of those losses came by just three points to a team ranked inside the Top 10.

Purdue’s lone loss came at home to defending national champion Villanova, since then they have won four straight games over far inferior competition. The Boilermakers are tough on the interior and can score points, but the Cardinals might be the best overall defensive team they have seen this season.

The Cardinals are coming off a loss to Baylor in the Battle 4 Atlantis title game. That happened just a few days ago, but the Cardinals should be ready to go in this one. Home games have been a plus for Louisville this season as they’ve won all three games there this season.

The problem for Louisville is whether or not they can get back into the right frame of mind here. The Cardinals blew a 22-point lead in that loss to Baylor, which is pretty remarkable considering the game ended in a 66-63 final.

Caleb Swanigan might be the best overall player on the floor in this one. He’s going to have to be in order for Purdue to have a chance to win.
