Kansas City and Denver are battling it out in the AFC?West, which looks to be the toughest of any division in pro football. Both teams enter tonight’s game with 7-3 records on the season and each have identical road/home splits, going 4-1 in home games and 3-2 in road contests. The Chiefs took a bad loss last week, losing at home to Tampa Bay.
They’ll have to look to rebound in this game as they are one of the most consistent teams in the league. KC?has won 17 of the last 20 games during the regular season and Alex Smith looks to be guiding them to a potential playoff berth once again. The Chiefs do it by not turning the football over (just three in the last six games overall) and playing strong defense.
Denver owns seven wins the last eight games over the Chiefs and they’ve covered the number in five of those tilts. Trever Simian is expected to go in this one but he’s a bit banged up, that will play a sizable role in this one if they have to turn to the rookie Paxton Lynch.
The Broncos have an excellent defense and will look to pressure Smith consistently throughout the game, but captain checkdown and the Chiefs love that short passing attack that can move the football down the field. Kansas City is a quality team that is strong on both sides of the ball.
