The Ohio State Buckeyes are hosting the Nebraska Cornhuskers in college football action tonight. The game is scheduled for an 8:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ABC. Ohio State is laying a ton of points here, it really on paper looks like too much. The Buckeyes have played three straight games where their opponent was within a single possession late in the game and Ohio State had to come back to beat Wisconsin. The offense hasn’t looked great in those three games either as the Buckeyes scored an average of just 25 points, which is not typical for them.
Nebraska is coming off its first loss of the season, but they battled Wisconsin into overtime and just came up short. The Cornhuskers are still ranked inside the Top 10 nationally and have started the season strong. A win here would allow them to be in the driver’s seat in the Big Ten West and certainly give them some pull as a top tier program once again looking to contender for a possible spot in the College Football Playoff rankings.
The quarterback battle between Tommy Armstrong and J.T. Barrett will be a big key. Both are experienced guys that can put their teams in positions to win, and clearly turnovers are going to play a big role here.
The Nebraska defense has shown itself to be a lot better than expected. Surely they haven’t played a tough schedule and Ohio State will be the toughest team on the regular season schedule, but this is way too many points here.
Nebraska can gain some confidence by scoring early.
