The Colorado Buffaloes have certainly been a surprise this season, racing out to a 6-2 start to this point in the year. One of those losses was at Michigan in a game where they were the better team in the opening quarter but lost quarterback Sefo Liufau to injury. He’s returned to lead the Buffs to a pair of wins over Arizona State and Stanford as Colorado now sits in first place of the Pac 12 South standings.
UCLA has had a dismal season, they’re 3-5 and have just one win in the Pac 12 this season. Jim Mora Jr. is trying his best to be able to get this team turned around and headed in the right direction, but they are dogs here and have three tough games remaining to possibly end up 6-6 and play in a mid-level bowl game at best. Time are tough out in LA, but they still have a talented team, though star quarterback Josh Rosen is expected to miss the remainder of the regular season with a nerve issue in his throwing shoulder. That doesn’t make this look any better for the Bruins.
Senior backup Mike Fafaul has been serviceable in Rosen’s absence, but he’s thrown eight touchdowns and eight interceptions during his time on the field. Last game out against Utah Fafaul threw the ball 70 times, four of which were intercepted.
UCLA has no running game, Colorado is solid on both sides of the football and this has proven to be a special season for them.
