The Navy Midshipmen are on the road in college football action on Friday night, taking on the South Florida Bulls. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN2. Navy owns a big win over Houston that doesn’t look so big anymore. The Midshipmen are a team that runs the football all the time, they rank fourth in the country with 293 yards per game that helps lead to almost 34 points per game on average.

They are led by Will Worth at quarterback, he has nine rushing touchdowns (three last week over Memphis with 201 yards) and gives the Middies a great option coming out of the backfield. That triple-option attack is great for Navy and several of their guys coming out of the backfield are averaging at least seven yards per carry.

South Florida has been a very high-powered offense this season, piling up better than 43 points per game. They are very balanced with 232 yards through the air and 255 on the ground, but they are coming off a loss at Temple last week. The Bulls gave up double-digit points in three of the four quarters to the Owls and got crushed in time of possession (39:07-20:53) and total yards (528-352) in that one and had the only turnover in the game.

Neither one of these defenses is set up to stop the other team, Quinton Flowers is a big-play quarterback for the Bulls that leads the team in both passing (obviously) and rushing yards this season.

Navy can score points and they are solid in time of possession this season. That will help them cover the number in this game.
