Fresno State is coming off a recent firing of Tim Deruyter, who won a pair of Mountain West titles during his tenure but has really struggled recently. The Bulldogs went just 10-24 in the last two-plus seasons under him, which includes a 1-7 start to this season where they are also 0-4 in the Mountain West and have no shot at really getting anything accomplished this season.

Air Force is an OK team, coming into this one 4-3 but all three of their losses have come in conference play. The Falcons have been solid favorites in three straight games by double digits but lost all of them on the scoreboard.

The Bulldogs aren’t built to beat a team that comes at you in waves from out of the backfield. Fresno is yielding better than 34 points per game on average and they are the fifth-worst team in the country against the run, allowing more than 264 yards on the ground per game to opponents. That’s not a good stat with a team like Air Force coming in, the Falcons are piling up 291.4 yards on the ground per game and there’s no real reason for them to throw the football in this one.
