Houston Texans at Denver Broncos Monday Night Football Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

The Denver Broncos are hosting the Houston Texans tonight on Monday Night Football. The game is scheduled for an 8:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. The NFL Odds for the game have the Broncos favored by a comfortable margin in this one.

NFL Odds
Denver -8
Total: -40.5 points

Brock Osweiler returns to Denver to take on his former team in this one. The Broncos will be using that as some type of motivation as the young quarterback left town for a big payday. Now the Broncos are left with basically nobody that's any good at quarterback, but Denver still has a shot to continue to be a very strong team.

Houston would be lights out if the offense could get it figured out. They're 0-2 in road games this season and the 18 points per game average for the Texans is 29th in the league. Osweiler is obviously making a ton of money down there but he's just 8-8 on the season in the turnover-interception department. Lamar Miller has been a solid signing for them, he's seventh in the league in rushing and has a chance to finish the day up toward and potentially in the Top 5.

Denver's defense used to be elite but this year they've taken a step back a bit. Opponents are running for an average of better than 112 yards per game against them, which ranks 20th in the league for Denver. They'll have to play better tonight with Miller and the Texans looking to establish the run game.

The Broncos are coming off a pair of losses to Atlanta and San Diego and are looking to bring consistent pressure against Osweiler tonight and force him into bad decisions. Houston wants him to speed up his delivery and get the football out quick against this defense as Von Miller and company are hungry for a statement game.

Total is kind of low for a spread like this, but Houston has been pedestrian offensively. Then again, it's not like Denver has been a great offensive team either.
