The Detroit Lions have a chance to pick up a solid win here at home. Washington is 4-2 on the season and is one of the hottest teams in the league, having won four straight games overall. A win here for Detroit would be huge as the Lions have won consecutive games over Philadelphia and Los Angeles after dropping three straight games to Tennessee, Green?Bay and Chicago by a combined 11 points.
Matt Stafford has been playing well all season, completing 69 percent of his passes with 14 touchdowns. Having a solid receiving group again this season has been big for Stafford’s confidence as he has his big-play threat in Marvin Jones and his two possession guys in Golden?Tate and Anquan Boldin.
The Lions are going to be able to score points in this one, but it would be nice if they could actually have a decent run game. Stafford and his crew can do a lot, but having an established ground game would make the Lions a strong team.
Washington needs Kirk Cousins to be good here. He’s attempted at least 27 passes in every game this season and three times he’s gone over 40 attempts, so expect Washington to put the football in the air quite a bit here against the Lions.
Detroit is strong at home and they need a victory here to put themselves back over .500 with a chance to keep improving. The defense is good enough to give them an excellent shot here.
