Boone Pickens Stadium should be rocking for the Longhorns coming to town this weekend. Texas is ranked 22nd nationally and they have been scoring a ton of points through three games this season, averaging almost 45 per contest and being led by a freshman quarterback in Shane Buechele. Last week was Buechele’s first road game as a starting quarterback for the Horns and he was ok, but not exceptional, against the Golden Bears. That was the first loss of the season for Texas, which found a solid ground game with D’Onta Foreman and Chris Warren III rushing for a combined 276 yards and four touchdowns.
Oklahoma State is 2-2 on the year, most recently losing at Baylor as Seth Russell torched them for 387 yards passing and four touchdowns. The Pokes could really use a win in this situation, but the schedule does have several winnable games the remainder of the season as well.
Texas is coming off a bye week, which should help, but they’re going to have to find a way to slow down Mason Rudolph and the Cowboy passing attack.
