The TCU Horned Frogs are on the road in college football action Friday night, taking on the SMU Mustangs. The game is scheduled for an 8:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. The college football odds for the game have the Horned Frogs listed as better than a three-touchdown favorite to pick up the win.

TCU is still picking up the pieces from a loss to Arkansas a few weeks ago, a game they probably should have won at home. Last week the Horned Frogs won a layup game against Iowa State, a team that is looking to build with a new head coach but it probably a few years away from seriously competing in the Big 12.
Gary Patterson’s team has a very strong quarterback in Kenny Hill, he’s already thrown for better than 1,000 yards but has been turnover prone with three picks in two games. Kyle Hicks and Hill have combined for 11 touchdowns on the ground, though, giving the Horned Frogs a nice option for attack.
SMU has been turnover prone at the quarterback position, tossing six interceptions compared to just four TDs. The Mustangs have a pair of wins on the season, but they’ve come over North Texas and Liberty. The lone game against decent competition saw them get crushed by Baylor, the Mustangs lost by four touchdowns and were out-scored 34-7 in the second half.
This would be a big confidence boost for SMU, a team that travels on the road the three of the next four games and the lone home game in that stretch is against Houston. TCU, if it can avoid turnover, is too strong.
