The New England Patriots are hosting the Houston Texans on NFL Thursday Night Football. The game is scheduled for an 8:25 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on CBS. The NFL Odds for the game have the Texans favored to pick up the victory on the road.

What a fantastic game we have here between two strong teams in the NFL. New England is going to be without Tom Brady (obviously) and now Jimmy Garoppolo looks to be banged up as well. That means Jacoby Brissett, the rookie from NC State, will get the nod here for Bill Belichik and the Pats.
It’s going to be tough for him for battle a defense as good as the Texans bring into this one. Houston has held Chicago and Kansas City to just 26 combined points in a pair of victories to open the season, J.J. Watt had 1.5 sacks last week against the Chiefs.
New England won’t be adding any quarterbacks to the roster according to Belichick. Brissett is the only QB on the roster, so we will have to see how much they protect him and run the football. The Patriots have looked just fine without Brady on the field to this point, but relying on Brissett to go out and win a game, even at home, could be a lot to ask.
Houston has some strong offensive play, but Brock Osweiler needs to avoid turning the football over. He’s already thrown three interceptions through the first two games but it hasn’t cost Houston a game yet.
Belichick and the Pats have been awesome at winning when everything is against them, but this looks like a tough spot.
