The match, where Williams takes on Angelique Kerber, is set for a 9:00 a.m. (EST) start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Kerber beat Venus Williams to stop a potential ninth Grand Slam final between the two talented sisters. Serena is a pretty sizeable favorite here (better than -300 nearly everywhere) but with her dominance in women's tennis the line is actually pretty respectable. Kerber knocked off Serena in the Australian Open final earlier this season and has looked very strong in her matches so far at Wimbledon.

Serena coasted in her semifinal matchup over Elena Vesnina, winning 6-2, 6-0 and now has reached the final where she looks to earn an impressive 22nd Grand Slam title. A win here would tie Serena with Steffi Graf for the most Grand Slam crowns in the Open era, which began in 1968. Margaret Court still holds the all-time mark with 24 Grand Slam titles.

Known for her overpowering play in the women's game, Serena has reached the finals in both of this year's Grand Slam events in the Australian and French opens, but lost in both finals. Garbine Muguruza knocked her off last month in Paris.

Serena is the reigning champion at Wimbledon and has six previous titles at the All England Club. Martina Navratilova owns the record at Wimbledon with nine individual titles.

This will be Kerber's second Grand Slam singles final. She has what it takes to beat Serena in a match like this, but Serena dominates her opponents at Wimbledon.
